The mill where it is produced has a story to tell too!

Our Earth Paper is produced by UPM in the EU using wood from sustainably managed forests. The UPM Kymi mill at which Our Earth Paper is produced is located along the River Kymi in Kouvola, South East Finland, and includes a pulp mill and a fine paper mill. The paper mill receives their heat and electricity from the integrated pulp mill, which generates renewable energy from biomass and pulp mill residues. The paper mill generates zero waste. The UPM mill plants over 50 million trees per year, that’s 100 trees every minute.

UPM has been listed as the leading forest and paper industry company in the in the Dow Jones European and World Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for the sixth time. And has an AAA rating from the Carbon Discloser Project for its efforts related to climate change, sustainable forestry and water use.

PEFC and EU Ecolabel certified

Our Earth Paper is PEFC certified, an international non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) through independent third-party certification.

Additionally the production process has achieved the EU Ecolabel, which recognises the product as having a reduced environmental impact throughout its life cycle, from the extraction of raw material through to production, use and disposal. Recognised throughout Europe, EU Ecolabel is a voluntary label promoting environmental excellence which can be trusted.
